Committed to helping America rise to the challenge of achieving racial and economic justice, TCLI in collaboration the Arkansas Coalition for Excellence (ACE) and Una Comunidad! (UC) as Local Co-Training Partners and with local Community Advisors, launched the Arkansas Latino Nonprofit Leadership Academy (Arkansas LNLA) in late 2010.
With funding from Arkansas-based foundations and corporations, Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation and the Walton Family Foundation, the Academy supports the growth of Latino and Marshallese leaders to contribute to the sustainability and effectiveness of Latino and Marshallese nonprofits as stewards of diverse low-income Latino and Marshallese communities in Arkansas. This is a first-ever leadership development program specifically designed for Latino and Marshallese community organizations.
Through a competitive application process, 14 Arkansas-based Latino and Marshallese nonprofit organizations serving low-income communities were selected to participate in the Academy.
At no cost to participants or their organizations, each nonprofit in the Arkansas Latino Nonprofit Leadership Academy receives:
-
Leadership Workshops for the executive directors and emerging leaders of 14 Latino and Marshallese-led Arkansas nonprofit organizations. For newly created or emerging organizations that may not yet have an executive director, board presidents can attend the workshop in lieu of an executive director.
-
On-site consulting and technical assistance for the full board and staff
-
Mentoring and coaching tailored to the specific needs of each organization
-
Extensive reading assignments and follow up work to support the goals set by each organization.
