Michigan Latino Nonprofit Leadership Academy

Michigan Latino Nonprofit Leadership Academy, 2011 Class
The Center for Leadership Innovation (TCLI), in collaboration with the Consortium for Hispanic Agencies (CHA) and its fiduciary agent, the Detroit Housing Development Corporation (DHDC), as our Local Co-Training Partner, and a Michigan Latino Advisory Committee, has launched the Michigan Latino Nonprofit Leadership Academy in late 2010.
With support from Michigan-based foundations, Kresge Foundation, Charles Stewart-Mott Foundation and The Skillman Foundation, the Academy supports the growth of Latino leaders to contribute to the sustainability and effectiveness of Latino nonprofits as stewards of diverse low-income communities in Michigan.
Through a competitive application process, 16 Michigan-based Latino nonprofit organizations serving low-income communities were selected to participate in the Academy.
Academy Participants: Members of the Consortium of Hispanic Agencies of Southwest Detroit
Academy Participants based in Ann Arbor, Flint, Pontiac, and Ypsilanti
At no cost to participating organizations, each nonprofit in the Michigan Latino Nonprofit Leadership Academy receives:
-
Leadership Workshops for the executive directors and emerging leaders of 16 Latino-led Michigan nonprofits. For newly created or emerging organizations that may not yet have an executive director, board presidents can attend the workshop in lieu of an executive director.
-
Tailored on-site consulting and technical assistance for the full board and staff
-
Mentoring and coaching aimed at the specific needs of each organization
-
Extensive reading assignments and follow up work to support the goals set by each organization.
